I really like how you've captured the grass; being low on the ground in the morning works incredibly well here. Nice use of the bokeh by keeping the f.stop low, and it works well enough for a kit lens (which is what I think you're using). I would have exposed the image more by a stop by either taking down the shutter speed, or moved the ISO up to 200, but that would be my preference. I would suggest to have a different backdrop for Abstract art, something that follows more of the left than the house. Otherwise it falls into conseptual photography. Otherwise, it's a great image.

Thank you for your well thought out comment. I was going back and forth as to what to categorize this shot as, I've come to settle on surreal, I don't think it's quite conceptual, but I took it from the surreal view of being a bug on a journey to somewhere off in the distance. I'll consider experimenting with the ISO a bit the next time I do something like that or changing the shutter speed. I've just been trying a lot of new things lately - some of them work and some of them don't, but I figure it's the best way to become a better photographer.

Thank you again for your comment, it's very helpful!

Each time I look at this photo it makes me stop anything else that I'm doing for a moment. o__o

I love the focus here (like I said in the chat last night)! The bokeh in the foreground mixed with that in the background creates a pretty surreal atmosphere. All with the fully focused line being somewhere in-between stands for a very dynamic feel (even though the vertical composition would suggest a rather static image).

I've been thinking a lot about the colours. At first glance I wasn't really sure if I fully appreciated the darkness which seems so thick that even this piece of light background in top left corner doesn't happen to fight it. But now I know that I do appreciate it, just like I do appreciate this light corner. This contrast is well visible and thanks to the field of green grass and water drops in the middle, it seems "calm" and delicate. :)

I remember that a lot of people were mentioning the house and whether it should or should not be visible in the picture. I think though that if this image is placed under "Surreal" category, we shouldn't look at it as we would at any other picture. To me, it's more like an unclear destination of this weird journey which takes us among round-shaped spheres and grass-like statues to the blurred unknown of what the background presents. There's light where we're heading for, but there's also some geometrical darkness and being here and now, I can't tell which one would be the real end of this weird, surreal journey.

All in all, it's a lovely picture which makes me dream away. Great piece! :D

Thank you for this amazingly well thought out comment. I'm amazed that this piece could make you think for that long :)!

I have decided to categorize it as surreal and keep the house (although I may try to edit it so it doesn't stand out so much). I'm glad it makes you dream and makes you feel like it is a journey - that's exactly what I was going for!

Thank you again!

Just as I said in the chat already, wow, it looks awesome!
I love the point were the grass is sharp and the dew gives a nice mystical effect. (This would make up for about the bottom of the top half, get what I mean?) The complete randomness of the grass and how the light fall through the dew looks totally awesome!
The bottom half of the image is not really my favorite part... It looks so dark and blurry compared to the rest of the image. A little bit of it would have been great, I think, to show the unusual angle you took the photograph from, but half of the image is just a little too much for me...
Overall, awesome job!

Ok I'll keep all those things in mind, I just liked the bottom of the grass better than including more of the house - I thought it made it more surreal.

Thank you for you comment :)!

Overall, I think this piece is visually interesting! There are so many little things to take in and I love the color of green you used. That was my first impression of the piece! Taking a further look, there is a lot of depth to the photograph, which I love! The bokeh is done very well and adds to the depth. The title makes me feel as though I am a bug and I'm taking a journey through the forest of grass!

I would have liked to see a different background however. I'm not sure I really care for the house and would have preferred to see the sky or trees instead. Maybe you could try this kind of photo again with one of those in the background and see what you think.

Overall, I love the mood and style of the photograph - great job!

Yes the house may be distracting, trees may be a better background, but as I've thought about this piece more I think the house adds to the surreal character of the piece. If there were just trees I think the whole surreal journey wouldn't be as crazy. That being said the post processing of the house is a little off - it needs to not be so bright/distracting. Therefore when I have time I'm looking into editing it.

I thank you for an awesome comment and all your hard work in projectcomment! It really is appreciated!

If that's what happens when you're just "messing around with the camera", then I want to see what you can produce when you're totally focused on your task! ;)

Thank you! Haha I'm not sure if I'm ever completely focused on the task at hand, I'm always messing with the settings on my camera and experimenting with light and angles. Maybe if I concentrated more on what I'm shooting I'd get more shots in focus or maybe not.

Thanks, awhile ago I did some abstract/surreal stuff - I didn't really expect to get much attention for it so I put off uploading it. I also wasn't sure if it was all that great - it's mostly the result of me messing around with the camera's settings.
